Senior Colorist Michael Mintz

Michael started out working various film and tv jobs but soon fell in love with the art of color grading. After becoming a dailies colorist, then a junior colorist at Western Images San Francisco, Michael was a member of the color team for The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, then went on to help form the telecine department at Downstream Digital, Portland OR, and lend his talents to creative companies such as Will Vinton Studios (now Laika Entertainment), iO Films, Tunnel Post, and New Hat. Now, after color grading over 70 features and countless commercials and music videos, Michael finds that one of the projects he’s most proud of is his work on over 230 episodes of National Geographic’s Life Below Zero, which has gone on to win 7 Emmys for outstanding Cinematography. Michael is an Officer and founding member of The Colorist Society International Hollywood Chapter and a member of The Television Academy. He spends his free time dabbling in street photography, road cycling, and living the adventurous life with his wife and two kids.
